ABOUT US
The Tathra Mountain Bike Club is a team of community minded enthusiasts, who aim to make mountain biking accessible to locals and visitors in the area.
Andy Johnson began track building in 2001 after riding on local wallaby tracks, the Bermagui Dirt Surfers trails and learning about the IMBA standard of track design.

After construction of the ‘Poo Ponds’ loop (Bundadung), Andy was joined by other enthusiasts Aido, Linda, Smurf, Stace, Jake, Steve, Rich, Sally, Charlie and Livi slept in the car. Track improvements and extensions led to the Fireshed loop, making 15 kms of hand-made single-track.
In 2010, Matthew Nott (local surgeon and rider) asked if the track could be extended, to stage an Event – The Tathra Enduro. In short, the entire Tathra community helped – check it out!
Since then, Tom Park, another track builder moved to Tathra. Under the philosophy of ‘not going to bed unless you are tired’, Tathra now has approx. 53 kms of graded trail including 45 kms of hand-made sweet flowing single-track.

To encourage participation by all levels and age riders, trails are graded green (easy), blue (intermediate) and black (difficult), with the trail head located at the Tathra Country Club.
The real beauty of the Tathra trails is their location. You are never further than five kilometres from the beach and Tathra’s town centre, meaning – you can ride from your accommodation and hit the water after the ride.
